The staff of the Department of Russian as a Foreign Language at Penza State University Olga Barabash and Ksenia Mityurnikova delivered reports at the XIII International Symposium ‘Russian Language and Russian Literature in a Multilingual World’ in the online format on 14 June. The event was held at the St. Cyril and St. Methodius University of Veliko Turnovo.
The symposium has been organised since 1971, bringing together specialists in Russian philology from all over the world. It was devoted to topical issues of linguistics, literary studies, and comparative study of languages. This year, researchers from Bulgaria, Russia, the Czech Republic, and Poland took part in the scientific event.
Penza State University was represented by Olga Barabash, Candidate of Philology, Acting Head of the Department of Russian as a Foreign Language, and Ksenia Mityurnikova, Assistant of the Department.
In the section ‘Translation Issues’ Olga Barabash made a report ‘Semantics of responsibility in Russian and Bulgarian legal terminology’, and Ksenia Mityurnikova presented a report ‘Linguistic features of news headlines with Oscar component in English and Russian language press’.
