Scholars from the PSU Institute of Law spoke at an international conference in Kazakhstan

On Thursday, October 23, representatives of the Institute of Law of Penza State University participated in the International Scientific and Practical Conference "The Declaration of State Sovereignty and Modern Kazakhstan: Challenges, Achievements, and Horizons of Sustainable Development," dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the Declaration of State Sovereignty and Republic Day of Kazakhstan.

The scientific event was organized by Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

The large-scale event brought together prominent scholars, government and public figures, the university administration, teaching staff, and students.

At the plenary session, participants presented reports on the history and contemporary development of Kazakhstan's statehood, sovereignty, political system, and socioeconomic and legal reforms.

Nikolay Svechnikov, Head of the Department of Law Enforcement at Penza State University, delivered a welcoming address to the conference participants. Evgenia Kazakova, Head of the Department of Private and Public Law, Olga Ryzhova, Head of the Department of Criminal Law, and Natalia Makeeva, Associate Professor of the Department of Theory of State, Law, and Political Studies, participated in discussions on a number of topical issues raised in the presentations.

Erkin Duseynov, Deputy Chairman of the Board and First Vice-Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Doctor of Law, Professor, and conference moderator, thanked his Penza colleagues and expressed hope for further fruitful cooperation.

The conference continued with breakout sessions, where topics such as "Constitutional and Legal Development of Kazakhstan as a Sovereign State," "State Sovereignty as a Value: An Interdisciplinary Approach to Challenges and Prospects," "Economic Policy and Constitutional Principles of Sustainable Development," and others were discussed.

Participation in the conference was a result of the Memorandum and agreements on creative cooperation concluded between PSU and Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Turan University, and Kunaev University.
