On 6–7 November, the district stage of the All-Russian contest for international students StudRussia took place at Nizhny Novgorod Dobrolubov Linguistic University.

Penza State University student Shlok Kshirsagar represented our university in the “Inspired by Art” category.

Participants in this category are students of Russian universities who have made notable achievements in cultural and creative activities — winners of artistic competitions and festivals at university, regional, national, and international levels — and who have contributed significantly to the cultural life of young people.

Following the project presentations, Shlok became the first-degree laureate of the district stage of the All-Russian contest.

StudRussia is a pilot platform for initiative, cross-cultural communication, friendship, and cooperation.

The purpose of the contest is to provide comprehensive support to international students who have demonstrated outstanding achievements in education and science, youth policy, student leadership, community involvement, volunteer work, creativity, and sports.

“More than 150 students from 27 countries are taking part in the contest. That’s wonderful! I wish you all to have a great time, explore the city, and most importantly — meet students from other universities and make new friends!” said Olga Guseva, Minister of International and Interregional Relations of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, in her welcoming speech.

StudRussia is a vivid palette of ethnographic colours — 27 countries from both near and far abroad.

A total of 43 universities have joined the contest. The participants are all so different, yet united by a shared understanding of intercultural dialogue.

“This nomination gave me a chance to express my love for art and inspired me to create works that reflect my own story and emotions. The contest itself was quite exciting, but the atmosphere of kindness and mutual support helped me perform at my best!” shared Shlok.
