Many countries provide grants for studying and interning at their universities. These are government grants, which are coordinated by the Embassy of the country, the Ministry of Education or the specialised agencies in particular country.
The applications for participation should be submitted strictly according to the procedure specified in the programme description.
The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) grants scholarships to students of all academic disciplines and at each academic degree level, including undergraduates, graduating undergraduates and recent graduates with a BA, Master’s degree students, doctoral students, PhD candidates and postdoctoral scholars, and faculty.
All scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis. Competitive selections are conducted by expert commissions, which include special invited professors from Russian and German universities, as well as representatives of DAAD partner organisations.
The decisive factors for the scholarship award decisions are academic performance, examinations results, scientific qualifications, quality and relevance of the scientific project, motivation, knowledge of German or English (depending on the programme), contacts with a higher educational institution in Germany, invitation of a German professor.
Only those applications that contain fully completed DAAD forms and a complete set of documents attached to them should be submitted to the selection committee.
For a detailed description of the scholarship programmes please visit the website of DAAD (in Russian).
The Fulbright Programme provides grants to study, conduct research, give lectures and pursue internship in any university, library and archive in the USA. The Fulbright programmes are aimed at graduates of Russian universities, post-graduate students, scientists, artists, academics, employees of international offices in Russian universities.
The requirements for applicants and the duration of grant vary depending on the programme chosen. For a detailed description, see the website of the Programme.
