DESCRIPTION

The programme provides Bachelor’s degree students with theoretical and practical knowledge about  a set of technical means, methods of human activity for the production, transmission, distribution, conversion, application of electrical energy, energy flow management, development and manufacture of elements, devices and systems implementing these processes in electrical cars and tractors. 

Forms of in-class activity: lectures, laboratory classes, practical classes, review sessions, and students’ individual work.

AIMS

research activity:
•    studying and analysing scientific and technical information;
•    applying standard application packages for mathematical modelling of the processes and operating modes of electrical equipment of cars and tractors;
•    conducting experiments according to a given methodology, compiling descriptions of conducted research and analyzing the results;
•    making reviews and reports on the work performed;

project and engineering  activity:
•    collecting and analysing basic data for projecting;
•    calculating and  projecting components and devices of electrical equipment of cars and tractors in accordance with the terms of reference using standard design automation tools;
•    monitoring the compliance of projects under development and technical documentation with standards, specifications and other regulatory documents;
•    conducting substantiation of project calculations;

engineering and manufacturing activity:
•     calculating schemes and parameters of electrical equipment of cars and tractors;
•     calculating operating modes of electrical equipment of cars and tractors;
•    monitoring operating modes of technological equipment;
•    ensuring production safety;
•    preparing and execution of standard technical documentation;

management activity:

•    organising  small-group work;
•    planning skills for staff;
•    planning  work of the primary production units;
•    evaluating results of activities;
•    preparing data for decision-making;

installation-setup activity:
•    making installation, adjustment and testing electrical equipment of cars and tractors;

service and operational activity:
•    checking technical condition and residual resources, organizing preventive examinations, diagnosing and maintaining repair of electrical equipment for cars and tractors;
•    making applications for equipment and spare parts;
•    preparing technical documentation for repairs.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

On successful completion of the course the student should be able to:
•    develop self-organization and self-education;
•    search, store, process and analyze information from various sources and databases, present it in the required format using information, computer and network technologies;
•    apply the appropriate physical and mathematical apparatus, methods of analysis and modelling, theoretical and experimental research in solving professional problems;
•    use methods of analysis and modelling of electrical circuits;
•    plan, prepare and implement model experimental studies according to a given methodology;
•    participate in the projecting professional activity objects in accordance with the technical specifications and regulatory and technical documentation, observing various technical, energy efficient and environmental requirements;
•    calculate operating modes of professional activity objects;
•    use technical means to measure and control the main parameters of the process;
•    install equipment for professional activity objects;
•    test commissioned electric power and electrical equipment;
•    apply  methods and technical means of operational tests and diagnostics of electric power and electrical equipment;
•    coordinate activities of the team members.

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES


The graduates are employed in research institutions, car dealership centres, at service stations. Graduates who have successfully mastered the undergraduate program can continue their study under Master-degree programme in the field of study 13.04.02.
