DESCRIPTION
The objectives of the program are to prepare a new generation of graduates who possess the skills of conducting research in order to substantiate, develop, implement and build norms, rules and requirements for products and quality assurance, who is ready to solve professional tasks in order to achieve high customer satisfaction and create financial stability and strategic efficiency of the enterprise on this basis, as well as to ensure the effectiveness of design, manufacture, maintenance, repair and disposal of products through the implementation of quality management systems, who is capable of developing, implementing and improving modern management systems in various fields of activity, in relation to innovative products and able to work in a competitive environment in the labour market, in accordance with the requirements of professional standards.
AIMS
research activity:
• analysing, synthesising and optimising quality assurance processes for testing and certifying products using problem-oriented methods;
• studying and developing quality system models and ensuring their effective performance;
• studying, analysing and developing statistical methods for quality management of products and processes.
design activity:
• developing quality control systems processes; forming the aim of processes, criteria and indicators for achieving aims, building the structure of interrelations between them, and identifying priority solutions while taking into account the moral aspects of professional activities;
• designing and improving communication processes and procedures for recognising the merits of well-done work;
• designing quality control systems models while finding generalised problem solutions and analysing them, forecasting the consequences of each solution, and finding solutions under the conditions of multiple criteria and uncertainty;
• developing and improving management systems documentation.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
On successful completion of the course the student should be able to:
• analyse and identify the nature-scientific essence of issues in the field of standardisation and metrology based on the acquired knowledge;
• formalise tasks in the field of quality control in technical systems and substantiate solving methods;
• individually solve tasks of quality control based on the latest achievements of science and engineering;
• develop criteria for assessing quality control systems based on modern mathematical methods, develop and implement management solutions for improving the efficiency of quality control systems;
• define forms and methods of legal protection and intellectual property rights, dispose of these rights for solving quality control tasks;
• identify quality control systems processes, build new models, develop and improve quality control algorithms and software;
• assess and manage quality control risks;
• analyse and find new methods for managing changes necessary for ensuring continuous conformity with quality requirements;
• develop methodological and regulatory documents for quality control, including those for the life cycle of products and their quality, manage this development.
EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES
Graduates of the programme are able to occupy positions of a first-category metrological engineer, a first-category metrologist, a chief metrologist, a head of laboratory/department/metrology office, a head of the department of quality control for products and services / organisation resources, deputy director for quality control, a head of the department of certification of products (services), a head of the technical control department (office).
