DESCRIPTION

The purpose of the programme is to train an educational psychologist with a humanistic worldview, a stable system of moral and civic values, who knows modern methods and technologies for organising educational process support, possesses professionally significant personal qualities, universal, general professional, professional competencies, and is able to carry out professional activities in educational organisations of general, vocational, and supplementary education.

AIMS

support activity:
•    monitoring personal and meta-subject results of mastering a basic programme of general education;
•    organising and conducting psychological diagnostics of students in order to identify development problems and difficulties of mastering educational programmes;
•    building (together with a teacher and other specialists) an individual trajectory for the personal development of students, taking into account their characteristics and educational needs;
•    ensuring counselling support for the subjects of the educational process on psychological problems of teaching and developing students;
•    ensuring counselling support for the subjects of the educational process in order to organise effective interaction between them;
•    developing, organising and conducting developmental classes with students;
•    cooperating with other specialists as part of psychological, medical and pedagogical consultations;
•    implementing psychological support for the processes of teaching and educating children with disabilities in an educational organisation;
•    organising and conducting events in the field of professional orientation for students, including those with special educational needs;
•    implementing psychological education aimed at shaping the psychological culture of subjects of the educational process, as well as at preventing negative manifestations in the social environment.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

On successful completion of the course the student should be able to:
•    conduct professional activities in accordance with professional ethics and regulatory legal acts in the field of education;
•    participate in the development of basic and supplementary educational programmes, develop their separate elements, including with the use of information and communications technology;
•    organise joint and individual learning and educational activities for students, including those with special educational needs, in accordance with the requirements of federal state educational standards;
•    implement moral education for students based on basic national values;
•    implement control and assessment of students’ educational outcomes, identify and correct learning difficulties;
•    apply psychological and training technologies in professional activities necessary for individualisation of learning, development and education, including for those with special educational needs;
•    interact with the participants of educational relationships within the implementation of educational programmes;
•    implement training activities based on specialised scientific knowledge;
•    comprehend the operational principles of modern information technology and apply them for solving professional activity tasks.

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

A graduate can work as a psychologist, or a teacher-psychologist in educational organisations of general, vocational, and supplementary education.
