DESCRIPTION
The programme is designed to provide a Master's degree in Finance and Credit in business analysis and financial relations management, financial, credit and investment policy for a wide range of enterprises and organisations. This master's programme is implemented in order to meet the needs of the federal and regional labour market for highly qualified economists.
AIMS
analytical activity:
• forming a database from various sources to implement business analysis, economic calculations, planning and solutions;
• modelling financial and economic solutions and forecasting the main indicators of an organisation’s activities at the micro- and macrolevels;
• managing business processes of consulting and developing financial, investment and management decisions based on criteria of economic efficiency and risk minimisation;
• implementing risk and anti-crisis management in an organisation based on criteria of economic and financial efficiency;
research activity:
• conducting individual research in accordance with the developed programme based on the results of business analysis, scientific publications and databases.
organisation and management activity:
• managing economic services and units at enterprises and organisations of various forms of ownership, as well as in public and municipal authorities.
economic project activity:
• managing the development, assessment and implementation of an investment project based on the results of business analysis;
• developing strategies, planning and justifying forecasted and planned figures, managing strategy implementation in accordance with the development of the organisation and the external environment.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
On successful completion of the course the student should be able to:
• analyse and assess financial stability, efficiency and risks, as well as forecast the dynamics of the main financial and economic indicators at the micro-, meso- and macro-levels;
• analyse budget projects, financial forecasts and plans for financial and business activities at various management levels;
• analyse, assess and improve the methods for calculating financial and economic indicators characterising activities within organisations, public authorities and local governments;
• analyse and assess the activities of various institutions and infrastructure of the financial market and financial authorities, as well as the conditions, trends and forecasts for the development of both Russian and global financial markets and the finances of state and non-governmental sectors of the economy;
• analyse and assess the prospects for the development of money turnover in the digital economy;
• analyse and assess the effectiveness of applied methods and tools for financial and monetary regulation of the economy in the context of ensuring economic growth and achieving financial stability;
• study modern conditions and trends in development, current problems of the modern monetary field and public sector finances based on searching, collecting, processing, analysing and systemising information according to developed plans and financial and monetary research programmes;
• develop tools and methods for analysing the monetary field, the state and non-governmental sectors to effectively manage finances in organisations, financial market institutions and public entity budgets;
• analyse and summarise the obtained results to financially justify the prospect areas of innovative development, minimise risks, achieve financial stability within organisations (including financial institutions) and in the budget system as a whole, draw up financial reviews, conclusions of expert analysis, reports and scientific publications in the field of finance and credit;
• develop theoretical, dynamic, economic and mathematical models of studied processes, phenomena and objects related to professional activities, as well as assess and interpret the obtained results;
• elaborate development strategies and financial policies at the levels of individual organisations (including financial market institutions) and public entities;
• manage cash flows at various stages of the economic cycle, including during economic crises, comprehend anti-crisis management methods, assess risks and hedge them to achieve financial stability at macro-, meso- and microeconomic levels, as well as to achieve stability for organisations, financial and budgetary systems;
• manage temporary creative teams, research and project groups created to develop the financial aspects of innovative solutions;
• develop regulatory documents, methodological materials, as well as proposals and measures for the implementation of prepared projects and programmes;
• prepare budget projects and financial plans based on the development and solutions for financial, economic and managerial tasks at the level of individual organisations, including financial market institutions, and public entities;
• apply modern methods for the tasks of economic projects, including those in the digital economy and FinTech;
• develop key performance indicators (KPI) for activities / projects;
• develop principles to form financial databases.
EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES
Professional activity of a graduate is possible in manufacturing enterprises, banks, insurance and investment companies, economic departments of commercial organisations of all forms of ownership, as well as in auditing and consulting firms, advisory services, and governmental and municipal authorities in positions requiring a higher economic education (master's level).
