DESCRIPTION

The mission of the program is to train an active, creative-minded specialist in the field of research and design activities for the design, experimental research, maintenance and operation of automated systems for special purposes. The purpose of the program is to form students' universal, general professional and professional competencies, and to develop students' professional and personal qualities.

AIMS

research activity:
•    studying methods of scientific theory and systems thinking in the field of developing special purpose automated systems;
•    studying an object of automation and analysing it using methods of scientific theory and systems thinking;
•    developing and analysing a model of business processes in the subject area using systems thinking methods;
•    making technical and economic justifications of project expediency using systems thinking methods;
•    certifying materials, semi-finished products, and technological processes of producing and processing them;
•    designing the concept of a special purpose automated system architecture;
•    preparing publications on research topics;

project activity:

•    developing and documenting requirements for a special purpose automated system based on customer’s requirements using instruments and methods of system analysis and verification;
•    formulating objectives for designing special purpose automated systems;
•    analysing and selecting methods and instruments for modelling and designing;
•    developing the design for special purpose automated systems;
•    documenting project solutions;
•    developing a special purpose automated system database structure;
•    writing programming code using modern programming languages;
•    verifying the structure of programming code;
•    developing methods for software testing;
•    testing software;
•    documenting information support and software;
•    developing regulatory documentation for conducting acceptance testing of a special purpose automated system according to selected methods;
•    developing regulatory documentation for implementing a special purpose automated system, taking into account modern standards for information interaction between systems;
•    developing regulatory documentation for the operation and consultation of special purpose automated system users;
•    developing regulatory documentation for supporting a special purpose automated system;
•    documenting the results of the quality and reliability assessment of a special purpose automated system, discrepancies identified during its operation, conducted adjustment and preventive works.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

On successful completion of the course the student should be able to:
•    apply and develop methods of scientific theory and systems thinking in the field of developing special purpose automated systems;
•    formulate objectives for designing special purpose automated systems based on customer’s requirements;
•    design project solutions using instruments and methods for modelling and designing special purpose automated systems;
•    develop, test and document the components of information support and software of special purpose automated systems;
•    implement, operate and support special purpose automated systems.
