DESCRIPTION

The purpose of the programme is to deepen theoretical knowledge and further enhance the practical training of a resident on the basis of knowledge and skills in endoscopy acquired during university studies, necessary for further full-fledged independent work as an endoscopist with universal, general professional and professional competencies that contribute to his social mobility and stability in the labour market.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

On successful completion of the course the student should be able to:
•    implement a complex of measures aimed at maintaining and improving health, forming a healthy lifestyle, preventing the emergence and (or) spread of diseases, conducting early diagnosis of them, identifying the causes and conditions for their emergence and development, as well as eliminating the harmful effects of environmental factors on humans;
•    conduct medical examination of both the healthy and chronically ill;
•    implement anti-epidemic measures, organise protection for the population in hotbeds of particularly dangerous infections, as well as during deterioration of the radiation situation, natural disasters, and other emergencies;
•    apply social and hygienic methods for collecting and conducting medical and statistical analysis of data on adult and adolescent health indicators;
•    identify pathological conditions, symptoms, disease syndromes, and nosological forms in patients according to the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems;
•    apply endoscopic methods for diagnosis and treatment;
•    provide medical aid in cases of emergency, including during medical evacuation;
•    apply natural therapeutic factors, drug and non-drug therapy, and other treatment methods to patients who need medical rehabilitation and resort treatment;
•    shape motivation among the population, patients and their families aimed at maintaining and improving their own health and health of others;
•    apply basic principles of organisation and management in the field of healthcare, in medical organisations and their structural units;
•    assess the quality of medical care using the main medical statistics indicators.

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Graduates are able to work as endoscopists in various medical organisations and implement professional activities in the field of endoscopy.
