DESCRIPTION
The Master's degree programme focuses on providing profound theoretical and practical knowledge and skills in the field of corporate management. Upon completion of the programme graduates should have fundamental knowledge in the field of managerial science, as well as related sciences. Masters are prepared for the following types of professional activity: organisational and managerial, analytical, research, pedagogical.
The graduates have the following objects of professional activity: management processes at enterprises of various organisational and legal forms, processes of state and municipal administration, research processes.
Forms of in-class activity: lectures, seminars, tutorials, unsupervised student work.
AIMS
organisational and managerial activity:
• elaboration of development strategies for companies and individual divisions;
• division management at companies and organisation of various forms of property, management of state and municipal authority bodies;
• organisation and management of creative teams to solve organisational and managerial problems;
analytical activity:
• search, analysis and evaluation of information to prepare and make managerial decisions;
• analysis of existing organisation forms and management processes, development and substantiation of improvement suggestions thereof;
• project performance evaluation taking into account the uncertainty factor;
research activity:
• organisation of research work: determination of tasks for groups and individual performers, selection of tools, analysis of research results, collections, processing, analysis and systematization of information on a research topic, preparation of reviews and reports on a research topic;
• modeling and simulation of processes, phenomena and objects under investigation relating to the field of professional activity, evaluation and interpretation of obtained results;
• discovery and formulation of topical scientific problems;
• preparation of reviews, reports and scientific publications;
pedagogical activity:
• teaching managerial disciplines and development of corresponding educational and methodological materials at general educational and professional organisations, additional vocational educational organisations.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
On successful completion of the course, the graduates should be able to:
• manage organisations, divisions, departments, teams, projects and networks;
• develop corporate strategies, programmes of organisational development and changes and to provide realization thereof;
• use contemporary methods of corporate finance management to attain strategic objectives;
• use qualitative and quantitative methods to carry out applied research and to control business processes, to prepare analytical materials based on results of the said methods’ implementation;
• apply methods of economic and strategic analysis of economic agents and market behavior globally;
• generalise and critically assess results of researches on topical problems of management, obtained by Russian and foreign scholars;
• introduce results of conducted research in forms of articles, reports or summaries;
• substantiate topicality, theoretical and practical importance of a selected topic of scientific research;
• carry out independent research according to a developed programme;
• develop educational programmes and methodological support for managerial disciplines, as well as to implement contemporary methods techniques in teaching thereof;
• forecast, model and determine promising business development trends;
• elaborate innovative business development projects.
EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES
The graduates are able to work at companies and enterprises of any organisational and legal form as executives and managers of various branches of management; at state and municipal administration bodies; at research and educational organisations.
Upon successful completion of the program some masters have an opportunity to continue education by taking a postgraduate course.
