DESCRIPTION

 

Master's degree programme is aimed at training master students with a special advanced training in the sphere of managing financial relations and implementing finance and credit policy in a wide range of organizations and enterprises. Graduates are trained to work in economic and financial agencies, banks, investment and financial companies, state authorities, to conduct teaching and research activity.

In the course of studies the aim of the programme is training master students in the sphere of social and economic sciences as well as providing education which will help graduates successfully work in the sphere of financial management of organisations, demonstrate advanced specialised competences and skills of research which contributes to their social mobility and sustainability on the labour market.

Forms of in-class activity: lectures, laboratory and practical classes, seminars, moderations, active forms of education such as case study, business games and role plays, consultations, students’ individual work.

 

AIMS

 

research activity:
•    developing working plans and programmes of research and development activities, preparing tasks for groups and individuals;
•    developing tools for research, analyzing the results;
•    preparing data for reviews, reports and research articles;
•    gathering, processing, analysing and systematising information for the topic under research, selecting methods and techniques for solving the research tasks;
•    organising and conducting research, including statistical surveys and questionnaires;
•    developing theoretical and econometric models of the processes, phenomena and objects under research, referring to professional activity, evaluating and interpreting the results obtained;

analytical activity:
•    developing and substantiating social and economic indicators characterizing the activity of economic entities and methods of their calculation;
•    searching, analysing and evaluating sources of information for conducting economic calculations;
•    evaluating the efficiency of projects considering the uncertainty factor;
•    analysing the existing forms of organising management, developing and substantiating offers for their enhancement;
•    forecasting dynamics of the main social and economic indicators of the activity of enterprise, industry, region and economy as a whole.

 

LEARNING OUTCOMES

 

On successful completion of the course, the student should be able to:
•    make organisation management decisions;
•    conduct individual research according to the developed programme;
•    present the results of the conducted research to scientific society in the form of an article or a report;
•    prepare analytical materials for evaluating events in the sphere of economic policy and making strategic decisions at the micro- and macro- levels;
•    apply the tools of analyzing and using different sources of information for conducting economic calculations;
•    forecast the main social and economic indicators of activity of enterprises, industry, region and economics on the whole;
•    apply modern methods and techniques of teaching economic disciplines in professional higher education organizations, supplementary professional education;
•    develop educational plans, programmes and relevant methodological guides for teaching economic disciplines in professional educational organisations, higher education institutions, supplementary vocational education;
•    prepare information and analytical support for developing strategic, current and operative forecasts, plans, budgets, monitor them, analyse and control the course of their preparation;
•    perform and substantiate anticipated and planned indicators, correct the methods of planning according to the dynamics of developing organizations and external environment;
•    evaluate critically variants of decisions in the sphere of financial management, develop and substantiate ways of their enhancement considering the criteria of financial and economic efficiency and risks.

 

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

 

Graduates can work in banks, economic, financial, marketing and analytical departments of commercial organizations of all forms of property including those under the standard taxation scheme as well as those using special schemes, in auditing firms, consultation agencies in positions demanding higher economic education, in state and municipal authorities, academic, research and educational institutions. Master students in economics can conduct research and take a post-graduate course on successful completion of the master course.
