DESCRIPTION

The Bachelor's degree programme is aimed at forming basic knowledge in social, economic and mathematical subjects which allow the graduates to successfully perform financial and accounting, calculating and analytical, organization management activity in enterprises and organizations of different forms of property, as well as to be engaged in research and development aimed at increasing the efficiency of economic and financial functioning at different levels. The programme provides advanced training in finances of commercial and budgetary organizations as well as in credit and investment activity.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

On successful completion of the course, the student should be able to:

•    use the basics of economic knowledge in different areas of activity;
•    gather, analyze and process data necessary for solving professional tasks; prepare information reviews and analytical reports;
•    make organization management decisions in professional sphere and be ready to carry responsibility for them;
•    calculate economic and social indicators characterizing the activity of economic entities on the basic of typical methodology and regulatory and legal framework in effect;
•    do calculations necessary for drawing up economic and financial plans and maintain financial relationships with organizations and public authorities;
•    build econometric models of social and economic processes on the basis of statistical data, identify tendencies of changes in social and economic indicators, analyze and interpret the results obtained;
•    use modern technical means and information technologies for solving analytical and research tasks;
•    critically evaluate options of managerial decisions and work out and substantiate ways of their improvement;
•    organize the activity of a small group created for implementing a particular economic project;
•    show in accounts the results of economic activity, make up forms of accounting reports, analyze and interpret the information contained in them, use the information obtained for making decisions;
•    apply norms regulating budgetary, tax and currency relations in security and banking activity, accounting and control.

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

The graduates can work in economic, financial and analytical agencies in organizations of different industries and forms of property, consulting and auditing firms, banks, financial and investment companies, public authorities in positions which require high economic education. They can also be engaged in teaching and research activity according to their major.

On completion of the Bachelor's degree programme the graduates can continue their studies and take a master degree course.
