DESCRIPTION
The purpose of the program is the formation of universal, general professional and professional competencies, and the preparation of graduates for activities in the field of industrial production of software for information and computing systems for various purposes. The implementation of this goal should ensure that students master the basic methods and tools of software product development, acquire practical skills in designing complex software products, possess technologies for designing and managing professional activities, know the standards of the software product lifecycle, methods of planning and managing software lifecycle resources, and possess modern software development technologies.
AIMS
production and technological activity:
• creating (modifying) and supporting information systems that automate the tasks of organisational management and business processes in organisations of various ownership forms, with the aim of increasing the efficiency of organisation activities – information system users;
• assessing the quality of software under development by verifying the compliance of a product with claimed requirements, collecting and sharing information on discrepancies;
• developing, debugging, modifying, and supporting system software.
design activity:
• managing IT projects (planning and organising their execution, managing and analysing deviations) in order to effectively achieve the aims of the project in accordance with the customer’s requirements, budget, and terms;
• developing graphic design for interactive user interfaces ensuring high performance (ergonomic) characteristics of software and systems.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
On successful completion of the course the student should be able to:
• conduct research when developing information systems and technologies;
• conduct and manage the works in creating (modifying) and supporting information systems;
• assess the quality of information system software under development;
• develop information system software components;
• manage IT projects for achieving the aims of the project;
• develop user interface design for information systems.
EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES
Graduates of the programme work in various IT structures of municipal and regional administrations, banks, commercial firms, factories, transport, defence enterprises and hold positions of specialists in the maintenance and operation of information systems, software engineer, developer of network and telecommunication systems, system administrator, web developer, etc. Their main task is to ensure the most efficient use of information technology in the industry in which graduates work.
