Aleksandr Antonov was born on 27 May, 1979, in the city of Penza. In 2001 he graduated with honours from Penza State University majoring in computing machines, complexes, systems and networks. In 2005 he defended a thesis to become the candidate of engineering sciences.
At Penza State University, he worked as:
1998-2005 – trainee engineer, programmer, electronics engineer, IT engineer at the Department of Computer Engineering;
2005-2008 – chief technology officer at the Regional Centre for Supercomputing;
2005-2011 – associate professor at the Department of Computer Engineering;
2010 – 2014 – head of IT Department of the Penza region;
2014-2016 – head of Telecommunication and Communication Department of IT Office, PSU;
2016-2022 – head of IT Office, PSU;
2019 – up to now – associate professor at the Department of Mathematics and Supercomputer Simulation;
2022 – up to now – Vice-Rector for Digitalization, PSU.
