Aims:
• to develop the knowledge of grammatical norms of the foreign language;
• to teach students the application of these norms into practical usage;
• to compare grammatical phenomena of the native and foreign languages.
Learning Outcomes:
On successful completion of this course of study students should be able to:
• show awareness of the grammatical structure of the foreign language;
• analyze grammatical phenomena of the native and foreign languages;
• apply grammatical forms and structures correctly in speaking and writing to achieve communicative purposes;
• demonstrate a grasp of grammatical norms and deviation from norms according to communication situations (formal and informal styles);
CONTENT
The adverb. Its general characteristic. Classification of adverbs. Syntactical functions of adverbs.
Modal words. Their general characteristic. Classification of modal words. Position of modal words in a sentence. Modal words denoting certainty, supposition, evaluation, affirmation and negation.
The interjection. Its general characteristic. Position of interjections in a sentence.
Function words. Their general characteristic.
Prepositions, conjunctions, particles. Their classification.
