Igor Krevsky was born in Penza on 12 December 1963. In 1981, he graduated from the Secondary School No. 53 with a gold medal. In 1981 – 1986 he studied at Penza Polytechnic Institute and mastered the specialty Electronic Computing Machines. He received the diploma with honours. While studying (since 1983), he worked as a laboratory assistant at the Department of Computer Engineering at Polytechnic Institute. After graduation, he was promoted to the engineer of this department.
In September 1986 he started internship at the Department of Design Automation Systems at V.I. Ulyanov (Lenin) Leningrad Electrotechnical Institute. At the end of the internship in 1987, he entered the post-graduate programme in this higher educational institution, which he successfully completed in October 1990. He defended his Candidate thesis “Linguistic support and development of models for logical modelling systems on mini and personal computers”.
Since December 1990, Igor Krevsky worked as an engineer, teaching assistant and then senior lecturer at the Department of Design Automation Systems at Penza Polytechnic Institute. In 1992, he occupied the position of an associate professor at this department.
In 1996 – 2016 he headed Penza Regional Centre for Distance Learning (as a part of PSU).
From April 2005 to February 2013, Igor Krevsky served as the Deputy Director for Research in Penza Branch of Russian State University of Innovation Technologies and Entrepreneurship. From March 2013 to August 2014 he was appointed as the Director of this institution.
Since April 2016, he led the project office of PSU Electronic Information and Education Environment.
On 27 March 2020, Igor Krevsky was appointed as the Vice-Rector for Digitalisation at Penza State University.
