DESCRIPTION

The programme provides Bachelor’s degree students with deep theoretical knowledge in the field of creating mathematical and algorithmical models. Students study programmes, programme systems and complexes, methods for their design and implementation, methods of producing, maintaining, exploiting and administering in different spheres. They get knowledge on simulation models of complex processes of computation and information processes control and administration.

Forms of in-class activity: lectures, laboratory classes, seminars, review sessions, students’ individual work, research work, practice.

AIMS

research activity:
•    developing new spheres and ways of exploiting computing technologies (CT) and auto-mated systems (AS) in information systems and networks;
design and engineering activity:
•    creating and implementing tools of information systems mathematical support;
•    developing software and methods of information systems and networks (including global ones) administration;
•    developing software for CT and AS;

organizational and management activity:
•    participating and organizing work connected with creating and implementing information systems mathematical support;

exploitation and management activity:
•    maintaining and administering information systems and networks (including global ones).

LEARNING OUTCOMES

On successful completion of the course the student should be able to:
•    use basics of philosophy to shape the worldview;
•    analyse the major stages and regularities of social historical development to shape civic position;
•    use basics of economics in different spheres of life;
•    use basics of legal science in different spheres of life;
•    communicate in spoken and written forms in Russian and foreign languages to solve tasks of interpersonal and intercultural interaction;
•    work in a team, be tolerant to social, ethnical, confessional and cultural differ-ences;
•    organize and educate themselves;
•    use methods and tools of physical culture to provide adequate social and profes-sional activity;
•    use first aid techniques, methods of protection in emergency situations;
•    solve standard tasks of professional activity on the basis of information and bib-liographic culture with the use of information and communication technologies and tak-ing into account basic requirements of information safety;
•    use mathematical basics of informatics in professional activity;
•    analyse problems and trends of programming technologies development;
•    apply in professional activity methods and tools for automation of software de-sign, manufacture, testing and quality evaluation;
•    use information about trends in development of computers with traditional (non-traditional) architecture; trends in development of functions and architectures of problem-oriented programme systems and complexes;
•    define problems and trends of development of software market;
•   use knowledge of basic conceptual provisions of functional, logical, object-oriented and visual types of programming, methods, techniques and tools of developing programmes under these types;
•    use methods of design and manufacture of programme products, principles of building, structure and ways of working with tools supporting creation of software;
•    use knowledge of methods of organizing work in teams of software designers, de-veloping methods and programme tools for collective design of software;
•    use knowledge of methods of architecture, algorithms of functioning of real time systems;
•    use skills of choice, design, implementation, quality evaluation and efficiency analysis of software to solve tasks in different subject areas;
•    use methods of systems simulation when doing research and designing programme systems;
•    use main information technologies models and ways of their implementation to solve tasks in different subject areas;
•    develop modelling algorithms and implement them on the basis of languages and packages of applied simulation programmes;
•    choose architecture and complex modern computers, systems, networks of sys-tems administration;
•    use modern system programme tools, operation systems, operation and network shells, service programmes.

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

The graduates can be employed as computer networks and databases administrators; be en-gaged in developing systems of automated design, information, computing, and expert systems, systems of artificial intelligence and wireless networks.
On successful completion of the programme the graduates can take a master degree course.
