DESCRIPTION

The programme provides Bachelor’s degree students with deep theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the field of applied mathematics, programming (including parallel programming and mobile systems programming) and computer technologies. Great attention is paid to such modern areas of study as machine learning, artificial neural networks, fuzzy models and methods, data science.

AIMS

•    applying mathematical methods of researching information and simulation models on the themes of applied research and development works;
•    applying science-driven mathematical and information technologies and programme packages for solving applied tasks in the field of physics, chemistry, biology, economics, medicine, and ecology;
•    researching automated systems and information processing tools, administration methods and computer networks safety control methods;
•    developing computer networks software and infoware, automated systems of computational complexes, services, operation systems and distributed data bases;
•    researching and developing algorithms, computational models and data models for implementing elements of new (or known) services of information technologies systems;
•    developing architecture, algorithmic and programme decisions of systems and applied software;
•     studying and developing programming languages, algorithms, libraries and programme packages, products of systems and applied software;
•    studying and developing systems of digital image processing, tools of computer graphics, multimedia and automated design;
•    developing and using tools, automated systems in research and practice.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

On successful completion of the course the student should be able to:

•    manage the team in the sphere of their professional activity, be tolerant to social, ethnical, confessional and cultural differences;
•    acquire with the help of information technologies and use in their practical activity new knowledge and skills including those in new subject areas, not directly connected with professional activity; expand and deepen their scientific horizons;
•    use and apply advanced knowledge in the sphere of applied mathematics and informatics;
•    develop and apply mathematical methods, systems and applied software for solving tasks of research and project and engineering activity;
•    develop and analyze conceptual and theoretical models of project and manufacturing and engineering activity tasks;
•    formalize and make algorithms of the given tasks;
•    develop a programme code with the use of programming languages, define and manipulate data.

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Graduates of “Applied mathematics and informatics” master programme can be employed in research, project and production enterprises. They can carry on studying and take a post-graduate course.
