DESCRIPTION

The mission of the program is to prepare a highly qualified, competitive graduate in the field of research and production and technological activities related to the use of mathematics, programming and computer technology, ready for innovative creative self-realisation. The objectives of the programme are the following: to prepare graduates who are capable of solving problems in the field of artificial intelligence, application software development and communication technologies; formation of a corporate culture that stimulates innovative activity and the growth of creative initiative, personal and creative self-realisation of students.

AIMS

production and technological activity:
•    developing the architecture, algorithmic and programming solutions for system and applied software;
•    developing software and information support for computer networks, automated systems of computing complexes, services, operating systems, and distributed databases;
•    studying and developing digital image processing systems, computer graphics tools, and multimedia;
•    developing and studying algorithms, computational models, and data models for implementing new (or existing) information technology system services;

research activity:
•    applying mathematical methods for studying information and simulation models on the subject of research or development work;
•    apply knowledge-intensive mathematical and information technologies and software packages for solving applied tasks in the fields of physics, chemistry, biology, economics, medicine, and ecology.
 

LEARNING OUTCOMES

On successful completion of the course the student should be able to:
•    conduct research and acquire new scientific and applied results independently or as part of a research team;
•    develop and apply mathematical methods, system and applied software for solving tasks of production and technological activities, taking into account information security requirements;
•    develop and analyse mathematical models for solving tasks in production and technological activities.
 

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Graduates of this programme can work in areas such as communications and information technology, including software design, development and testing, creation and support of information and communication systems and databases, development of information resources for the Internet, as well as in industry, engaged in research and development and automated control systems technological processes of production.
