DESCRIPTION

The programme provides bachelor degree students with theoretical knowledge necessary for solving engineering and research tasks in the sphere of information technologies, integrating knowledge into their sphere of activity, self-education and constant professional improvement of work with the automated systems of engineering activity.

Forms of in-class activity: lectures, laboratory classes, practical classes, review sessions, students’ individual work, practices.

AIMS

research activity:
•    studying research and engineering information about national and international practices on the conducted research;
•    mathematical simulation of processes and objects on the basis of standard packages of automated design and research;
•    conducting experiments with the use of the given methods and analyzing the results;
•    conducting evaluation and observation, making descriptions of the conducted research, preparing data for reviews, reports and research articles;
•    making reports on the task; participating in the introduction of the research results;

research and teaching activity:
•    teaching the organization’s staff to use modern software and methodological research complexes and automated design;

project, research and development activity:
•    gathering and analyzing the original data for design;
•    designing software and hardware (systems, devices, elements, programmes, databases) in accordance with work specifications using design automation tools;
•    drafting project and work technical documentation;
•    controlling the correspondence of the designed projects and technical documentation to standards, technical conditions and other regulations;

project and technological activity:
•    applying modern tools in designing software;
•    applying Web-technologies when implementing the remote access in client / server sys-tems and distributed computing;
•    using standards and typical testing and quality control methods for software products;
•    participating in automation of technological processes at the preproduction stage;
•    applying modern software methodological complexes of research and automated design of professional activity objects.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

On successful completion of the course the student should be able to:
•    use basics of philosophy to shape the worldview;
•    analyse the major stages and regularities of social historical development to shape civic position;
•    use basics of economics in different spheres of life;
•    use basics of legal science in different spheres of life;
•    communicate in spoken and written forms in Russian and foreign languages to solve tasks of interpersonal and intercultural interaction;
•    work in a team, be tolerant to social, ethnical, confessional and cultural differ-ences;
•    organize and educate themselves;
•    use methods and tools of physical culture to provide adequate social and profes-sional activity;
•    use first aid techniques, methods of protection in emergency situations;
•    install software and hardware for information and automated systems;
•    apply methods of using software tools for solving practical tasks’
•    develop business-plans and work specifications to provide departments, laborato-ries and offices with computer and network equipment;
•    adjust software and hardware complexes;
•    solve standard professional tasks on the basis of information and reference culture with the use of information and communication technologies and taking into account the main safety requirements;
•    develop models of information systems elements including databases and “man-computer” interface models;
•    develop elements of hardware and software complexes and databases using mod-ern programming tools and techniques;
•    substantiate design decisions, conduct experiments to test their efficiency;
•    prepare and deliver classes to teach the staff to use software methodological com-plexes used at the enterprise.

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

The graduates can be employed in IT organizations with modern CAD systems; be engaged in developing automated design systems, information, computer, expert systems, artificial intel-ligence systems.

On successful completion of the programme the graduates can continue their studies and take a master degree course.
