DESCRIPTION

 

The programme provides training of highly qualified specialists with creative thinking in the field of analytical chemistry, who are able to apply modern methods of analytical research, to use modern information technologies to process chemical analysis results, who are willing to develop new analytical methods and techniques, capable of and ready to innovations, innovative development of the region, industry or organizations, as well as to innovative business, competitive at the labour market, successfully solving professional tasks in production, teaching, research and organizational activity. It also forms general cultural, professional and specialized competences according to the Federal Educational Standards of higher education in this field.

 

LEARNING OUTCOMES

 

On successful completion of the course the student should be able to:

•    organise and educate themselves;
•    conduct chemical experiments, apply the main synthetic and analytical methods of obtaining and researching chemical substances and reactions;
•    search and process research information;
•    demonstrate the knowledge of safety rules and implement them in laboratory and technological conditions;
•    show an understanding of the system of fundamental chemical concepts;
•    use chemical materials safely taking into account their physical and chemical properties;
•    use the main patterns of chemical science and fundamental chemical concepts when solving particular production tasks;
•    calculate basic technical indicators of a technological process;
•    plan, organize and analyze the results of their teaching activity;
•    use different methods of teaching chemistry to achieve the best understanding among the students with different levels of basic knowledge;
•    work with the production equipment used in analytical and physico-chemical research;
•    register and process the results of chemical experiments.

 

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

 

The graduates are employed in research laboratories of educational institutions, specialized laboratories of various technological and production enterprises (chemical, pharmaceutical, metallurgical, food industries, etc.), in analytical centres and laboratories; as teachers in general and vocational educational establishments.

On successful completion of the programme the graduates can take a master’s degree course.
