DESCRIPTION

The aim of the programme is to meet the educational needs of the individual, society, and the state by developing a unified educational space in the field of jurisprudence; to foster the comprehensive development of the learner's personality; to form universal and general professional competencies; and to satisfy society's demand for fundamentally educated and harmoniously developed specialists who are proficient in modern technologies relevant to their professional activities in the interests of protecting the rights, freedoms, and lawful interests of citizens, society, and the state, as well as to enable successful continuation of education in master's programmes and professional career advancement.

AIMS

rule-making activity:
•    elaborating legal acts and preparing for their implementation.

law enforcement activity:
•    making and justifying decisions within job duties, as well as enforcing legal rules;
•    ensuring lawfulness, law and order, and security for a person, society, and the state;
•    preventing, supressing, detecting, disclosing and investigating offences.

expert advisory activity:
•    advising on law;
•    executing a legal examination of documents.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

On successful completion of the course the student should be able to:
•    analyse the main rules of formation, operation and development of law;
•    apply rules of substantive and procedural law in professional activities;
•    participate in expert legal activities as part of the task at hand;
•    participate in the preparation of legal acts and other legal documents;
•    consciously and efficiently obtain information of legal significance from various sources, including legal databases, as well as solve professional tasks using information technology while complying with information security requirements;
•    design legal rules for various levels of rule-making and professional activities;
•    apply legal rules and adopt enforcement acts in specific area of legal activities;
•    detect, solve, investigate and qualify crimes and other offences;
•    provide legal aid and various legal services, give qualified legal opinions and advice in specific areas of legal activities.

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

A graduate is qualified to carry out professional activities within legal departments (divisions) of organisations of any organisational and legal forms; in courts of general jurisdiction and arbitration courts; in prosecutorial bodies; in legal advocacy organisations; in notarial offices; in units of the Federal Bailiff Service; in police departments; in legal departments and legislative and legal administrations (divisions); as well as in other structural units responsible for legal work within government bodies and local authorities.
