DESCRIPTION
The programme provides master’s degree students with deep theoretical knowledge in the field of social and pedagogical education. In the course of studies master’s degree students acquire fundamental knowledge in social subjects and relevant disciplines. Practical and research work is focused on the Humanities, theory and practice of teaching social studies. The programme provides deep knowledge of theory and practice in teaching social studies, and thus students obtain fundamental training in the sphere of pedagogical education.
Forms of in-class activity: lectures, seminars, colloquium classes, review sessions, and students’ individual work.
AIMS
teaching activity:
• studying abilities, needs and achievements of students according to the level of the educational programme;
• organizing the process of teaching and learning with the use of technologies relevant to the age and psychological characteristics of the students as well as to their educational needs;
• interacting with colleagues, parents, social partners;
• professional self-development and personal growth;
research activity:
• analyzing, systemizing and generalizing the results of research in science and education by applying a set of research methods when solving particular research tasks;
• conducting research and analyzing its results with the use of modern research methods and technologies;
project activity:
• designing educational programmes and individual educational routes for students;
• designing the content of subjects (modules), forms and control methods, assessment materials;
• designing educational environment contributing to the quality of the educational process;
• designing a further educational route and professional career;
methodological activity:
• studying and analyzing professional and educational needs and possibilities of teachers and designing routes of individual methodological support on the basis of the results obtained;
• studying, organizing and evaluating the results of methodological support of teachers;
management activity:
• studying the state and potential of the system under management and its macro- and microenvironment by using a set of methods for strategic and operational analysis;
• studying, organizing and evaluating the results of managerial process with the use of management technologies relevant to general and specific patterns of developing the system under management;
• using the existing opportunities of the system and designing the ways of development to provide the quality of management;
cultural and educational activity:
• studying and forming cultural needs of students;
• increasing cultural and educational level of different public groups, developing the strategy for educational activity;
• designing and implementing complex educational programmes focused on the needs of different social groups taking into account regional and demographic specific features.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
On successful completion of the course the student should be able to:
• apply modern methods and techniques of organizing educational activity, diagnosing and evaluating the quality of educational process according to different educational programmes;
• form educational environment and use professional knowledge and skills in solving tasks of innovative educational policy;
• analyze the research results, apply them when solving particular research tasks in science and education, do research on their own;
• design educational environment, in particular, under the conditions of inclusion;
• develop and implement methodological models, techniques and tools of teaching, analyze the results of their usage in educational establishments;
• systemize, generalize and disseminate national and international practices in professional activity;
• organize team work for solving problems of educational establishments, for implementing experimental work;
• develop strategies of cultural and educational activity;
• manage pedagogical process, teams of teachers, educational establishments;
• organize research and innovative activity in educational organizations.
EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES
The graduates are employed in educational establishments as teachers of social studies and legal sciences, in cultural establishments and research institutes, mass media, law enforcement agencies, etc. On successful completion of the programme the graduates can take a post-graduate course.
