DESCRIPTION

The programme provides master’s degree students with deep theoretical knowledge in the field of culture, art and pedagogical education. In the course of studies master’s degree students acquire fundamental knowledge in cultural and art subjects. Practical and research work is focused on the Humanities. The programme provides deep knowledge of theory and practice in teaching art and cultural subjects, and thus students obtain fundamental training in education, social sphere and art.

Forms of in-class activity: lectures, seminars, laboratory classes, review sessions, and students’ individual work.

AIMS

teaching activity:
•    identifying and analyzing abilities, needs and achievements of students according to the level of the educational programme;
•    organizing the process of teaching and learning with the use of technologies relevant to the age and psychological characteristics of the students as well as to their educational needs; 
•    interacting with  colleagues, parents, social partners, including the foreign ones;
•    professional self-development and personal growth;

research activity:
•    analyzing, systemizing and generalizing the results of research in science and education by applying a set of research methods when solving particular research tasks;
•    conducting research and analyzing its results with the use of modern research methods and technologies;

project activity:
•    designing educational programmes and individual educational routes for students;
•    designing the content of subjects (modules), forms and control methods, assessment materials;
•    designing educational environment contributing to the quality of the educational process;  designing a further educational route and professional career;

cultural and educational activity:
•    studying and forming cultural needs of students;
•    increasing cultural and educational level of different public groups, developing the strategy for educational activity;
•    designing and implementing complex educational programmes focused on the needs of different social groups taking into account regional and demographic specific features.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

On successful completion of the course the student should be able to:

•    acquire and apply modern research methods, learn new spheres of professional activity;
•    acquire and use new knowledge and skills;
•    interact with educational process participants and social partners, manage a team, be tolerant to social, ethnical, confessional and cultural differences;
•    apply modern methods and techniques of organizing educational activity, diagnosing and evaluating the quality of educational process according to different educational programmes;
•    form educational environment and use professional knowledge and skills in solving tasks of innovative educational policy;
•    manage the students’ research work;
•    analyze the research results, apply them when solving particular research tasks in science and education, do research on their own;
•    use individual creative abilities to solve research tasks on their own;
•    design educational environment, in particular, under the conditions of inclusion;
•    perform pedagogical design of educational programmes and individual educational routes;
•    develop and implement methodological models, techniques and tools of teaching, analyze the results of their usage in educational establishments;
•    form artistic environment;
•    implement state cultural policy connected with keeping and implementing artistic, cultural, historical and natural heritage.

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

The graduates are employed in educational establishments of all levels and types as teachers of art and culture, in cultural and research institutions, mass media, etc. On successful completion of the programme the graduates can take a post-graduate course.
