DESCRIPTION
The Bachelor’s degree programme is focused on developing students’ personal qualities and professional skills required for successful commercial activity. It is grounded on economic, technological, management and humanities components.
Students master major rules in the development of economy and commerce, explore methods, means and modern technologies of trade and technological activity. Graduates will be able to forecast business processes and assess their potential and performance, develop the stratagem of enterprise operation, and conduct research.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
On successful completion of the course the student should be able to:
• manage the range of goods and services, maintain and evaluate their quality, detect their damages and shortcomings, accept and account products in accordance with their quantity and quality;
• purchase and sale various goods and services, detect and prevent falsified and counterfeit products;
• ensure equipment and material procurement of enterprises, manage and optimise trade stocks;
• identify and satisfy consumers’ needs, create new needs using marketing techniques, study and forecast demand, analyse marketing information;
• forecast business processes and assess their potential and performance;
• oversee commercial and technological processes in enterprises, maintain storing and stock-taking, minimise the losses of material and labour resources, detect and write-off goods losses;
• select business partners, conduct negotiations, conclude contracts and monitor their implementation;
• analyse, assess and formulate commercial strategies of enterprises;
• develop innovative methods, means and techniques for maintaining professional activity;
• conduct research in commerce, marketing, advertising, logistics, and merchandising.
EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES
Graduates are employed at large commercial wholesale and retain enterprises and other institutions engaged in trade, exchange and promotion of goods and services. They can occupy the positions of leading commercial agents, sales representatives, commodity market specialists and other administrative staff. Some graduates may opt for completing Master’s degree programmes.
