DESCRIPTION

The purpose of the programme is to prepare graduates who have mastered new methods of scientific research of physical problems, are competitive, mobile, ready for innovative creative self-realisation and able to work successfully in professional fields: the implementation of educational programmes of secondary general education, secondary vocational education, higher education and supplementary vocational programmes; conducting fundamental and applied research, innovative and experimental design developments in the field of general and applied physics; operation of electronic devices and systems for various purposes; monitoring of material parameters. Graduates should also be able to integrate into the modern high-tech industrial and economic space and be ready to carry out work in their professional fields.

AIMS

teaching activity:
•    designing and implementing the education process in physics in educational institutions of secondary general education, secondary vocational education, within Bachelor’s programmes and supplementary vocational programmes;
•    developing and applying training programmes, assessment tools, educational and methodological documentation for conducting classes in physics.

research activity:
•    conducting calculation research, measuring physical characteristics on experimental benches and facilities;
•    building mathematical model for the physical processes under study;
•    processing and analysing the results of calculation research and experimental measurements;
•    writing reports on the conducted stages of research in general physics;
•    collecting, studying, and analysing Russian and foreign scientific and technical information on research and development topics;
•    selecting and applying modern methods and equipment for conducting experimental research and measurements;
•    modernising methods and equipment for measuring the parameters of nanomaterials and nanostructures and modifying their properties based on conducted research.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

On successful completion of the course the student should be able to:
•    apply fundamental knowledge in physical, mathematical, and (or) natural sciences in the field of professional activities;
•    conduct research on physical objects, systems, and processes, process and present experimental data;
•    comprehend the working principles of modern information technologies and apply them for solving tasks in professional activities;
•    conduct research in the selected field of experimental and (or) theoretical development using modern tools, including complex physical equipment and information technologies; formalise the research and development results.

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

The graduate's fields of professional activity are institutions of secondary general education, secondary vocational education, higher education and supplementary vocational programs, laboratories, research institutes, design bureaus and firms, manufacturing enterprises and associations.
