DESCRIPTION

The purpose of the program is to form students' universal, general professional and professional competencies in accordance with the requirements of professional standards, develop knowledge that allows them to apply modern technologies in information systems at the stages from design to operation, generalize theoretical knowledge based on specific examples of system environments and services, and develop students' special knowledge in the field of modern systems management and software development.

AIMS

production and technological activity:
•    managing technical support for an object of professional activities, administering its information and automated systems, integrating information and automated systems;
•    managing the development of professional activity objects, managing information resources and services of an organisation;
•    managing technical documentation;
•    managing analytical works;

research activity:
•    collecting and analysing research information, as well as Russian and foreign experience on the research topic;
•    developing and studying theoretical and experimental models of professional activity objects and developing methods for solving non-standard problems, as well as new methods for solving conventional ones;
•    analysing experiment results, selecting optimal solutions, preparing and drawing up reviews, reports and scientific publications.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

On successful completion of the course the student should be able to:
•    manage information system software development;
•    apply modern information technologies for managing, planning, and designing software and information systems;
•    plan, install, set up, and administrate information and communication system components;
•    identify and assess critical incidents in the work of the components of the information and communication system of an organisation, model and optimise the work of network equipment, operating system services, system software;
•    conduct research related to planning and implementing analytical work in IT projects.

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Graduates who have completed the program are able to carry out professional activities in IT campaigns, in research institutions related to the development and application of information technology, in IT departments of other institutions and organizations.
