DESCRIPTION

Instrument Engineering Bachelor’s degree program in the study field of Instrument Engineering Technology provides knowledge for the development, research and manufacturing of new devices and equipment. The sphere of activity of future graduates is connected with design, construction, technological preparation and support of production of electronic equipment and optoelectronic devices and complexes.

AIMS

design activity:
•    collecting and analysing initial data for designing and constructing production of electronic equipment and optoelectronic devices and complexes;
•    calculating and designing structural and functional schemes for devices with various functional purposes, in accordance with technical specifications, using automated tools design;
•    developing design and technical documentation, formulating finished design works developing design and technical documentation, formulating finished design works.

production and technological activity:
•    managing compliance of projects under development and technical documentation with technical specifications and other regulatory documents;
•    implementing research results and designs into production;
•    conducting works on technological preparation and maintaining production of electronic equipment and optoelectronic devices and complexes;
•    conducting technological processes of producing tools and devices;
•    organising metrological support for producing tools and devices for design, technological preparation, and maintenance of producing electronic equipment and optoelectronic devices and complexes.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

On successful completion of the course the student should be able to:
•    identify conditions, operation modes, and design features of optical equipment under development, optical and optoelectronic devices and complexes;
•    develop technical requirements and tasks for designing and constructing optical and optoelectronic devices, complexes, and its components parts;
•    conduct design and construction of optical, optoelectronic and mechanical blocks, nodes, and components, identify the nomenclature and types of component products;
•    develop technological processes and documentation for producing, assembling, aligning, and managing optical, optoelectronic, and mechanical blocks, nodes, and components;
•   implement technological processes for the production and quality control of optical equipment, optoelectronic and optical devices, complexes, and component parts;
•    design special tooling provided by the technology of producing optical equipment, optical and optoelectronic devices, complexes, and their component parts;
•    conduct the quality control of optical products.

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

At present there is an urgent need for engineering personnel in the field of instrumentation, in production engineers for instrumentation enterprises. Bachelors in instrumentation engineering are prepared for operating enterprises of national economic importance, scientific and production and commercial firms.
