DESCRIPTION
The main objective of the programme is to train a bachelor in mechanical engineering, capable of designing welded structures that meet the requirements of manufacturability, reliability and safe operation, to develop technological processes aimed at creating competitive mechanical engineering products and based on the application of modern methods and means of design, mathematical, physical and computer modelling of technological processes.
AIMS
production and technological activity:
• managing compliance to the technological discipline during production;
• organising workplaces, technical facilities with the placement of technological equipment;
• organising metrological support of technological processes, using standard methods of quality control of manufactured products;
• maintaining technological equipment for realisation of production processes;
• participating in the work on the finalisation and mastering of technological processes in the course of preparing the production of new products;
• preparing technical documentation on quality management of technological processes at production sites;
• managing compliance with environmental safety of works; conducting the adjustment, setting, regulation, pilot testing and operation of technological equipment and software tools;
• conducting assembly, adjustment, testing and commissioning of new samples of products, nodes and components of manufactured products;
• conducting diagnostics of technological equipment, means of measurement, control and management of technological processes;
• checking the technical condition and remaining life of technological equipment, organising preventive inspections and current repairs; conducting the acceptance and mastering of the equipment to be commissioned;
• drawing up manuals for the equipment and testing programmes;
• preparing requests for equipment and spare parts, preparation of technical documentation for its repair;
• analysing the results of production activities, preparing and implementing technical, technological and operational documentation.
design activity:
• collecting and analysing the initial data for designing machine-building products and technologies for their production;
• calculating and designing components and nodes of machine-building constructions in accordance with technical specifications and using standard design automation tools;
• developing working design and technical documentation, executing completed design and engineering works;
• assessing the compliance of projects and technical documentation under development with standards, technical specifications and other regulatory documents with a preliminary technical and economic feasibility of design solutions.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
On successful completion of the course the student should be able to:
• develop production documentation that ensures the technological efficiency of products and the processes of their production;
• maintain technical tooling in workplaces with the placement of technological equipment;
• manage and test materials used and finished products, develop technological and regulatory documentation on methods of control;
• manage the compliance with the main parameters of welding production and ensure technological process requirements;
• take into account the operating conditions of machine-building components and nodes when designing them;
• conduct design activities, taking into account the requirements of technical documentation, standards, and other regulatory documentation.
EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES
The graduate who has successfully mastered the programme is able to carry out professional activity on designing of welded structures, organisation of their production, quality control and management of technological processes at machine-building plants, in design and scientific research institutes and institutions.
