DESCRIPTION
The mission of this programme is to ensure a high level of Bachelor's degree in the field of technosphere safety, including environmental protection engineering, in accordance with the current and foreseeable needs of enterprises and organisations in Russia, the region and the city. The aim of this programme in the field of education is to create conditions for personal and professional development of the student, contributing to his/her effective adaptation in the socio-cultural environment of the Russian and international community.
AIMS
design activity:
• participating in design works as part of a staff team in the field of creating means of ensuring safety and protecting people from man-made impact, developing project sections related to issues of ensuring human safety and environmental protection, conducting independent research on separate project issues of medium complexity;
• identifying sources of hazard in the environment, workplace, and manufacturing, identifying levels of hazard;
• identifying zones with increased man-made hazard risks;
• preparing design documentation for products and devices under development with the use of automated design systems;
• developing safety requirements when preparing reasoning for investment and project decisions;
• developing rescue means and organisational technical measures for protecting territories from natural and man-made emergencies.
organisation and management activity:
• training staff in safety requirements;
• organising and participating in activities of protecting human and environment at the level of the manufacturing enterprise, as well as enterprise emergency response activities;
• developing regulatory legal acts on issues of ensuring safety at the enterprise level;
• participating in organisational technical measures for protecting territories from natural and man-made emergencies;
• implementing state measures in the field of ensuring safety.
expert, supervisory and inspection-audit activity:
• monitoring of the fields and sources of hazards in the living environment;
• conducting safety audits;
• monitoring operating modes of technological equipment;
• identifying zones of increased man-made risks.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
On successful completion of the course the student should be able to:
• implement planning and formalisation of the documentation enterprise environmental protection activities;
• conduct monitoring of the functioning of the labour protection management system;
• implement and ensure the functioning of the labour protection management system;
• take into account the modern tendencies in the development of equipment and technologies in the field of technological safety, measuring and computational equipment, and information technologies when solving standard tasks in the field of professional activities related to environmental protection and human safety;
• ensure human safety and environmental protection based on the principles of safety culture and the concept of risk-oriented thinking;
• implement professional activities, taking into account state requirements in the field of ensuring safety;
• comprehend the principles of work of modern information technologies and apply them for solving professional tasks.
EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES
After having mastered the programme, graduates are able to work as an environmental engineer (ecologist) and a specialist in labour safety.
