DESCRIPTION

The aim of the programme is the modernization of the content of psychological education and methodological training of future psychologists; intensification of innovative activities in the organization of the educational process in the field of training in accordance with the traditions of research activities of the teaching staff; formation of students' personal qualities that contribute to their creative activity, general cultural growth and social mobility: purposefulness, responsibility, independence, commitment to ethical values, tolerance; as well as the possession of professional competencies for the subsequent effective solution of professional tasks in the scientific field of social psychology of personality.

AIMS

educational and preventive activity:
•    preparing and disseminating psychological information among the subjects of the educational sphere;
•    conducting career guidance events with students and parents;
•    implementing psychological education, taking into account the specific tasks of the subjects of the educational process;
•    preparing information on psychological topics in accordance with the requests of various social groups, vulnerable segments of the population, employees of social organizations;
•    preparing preventive measures with social groups, vulnerable segments of the population, employees of social organizations;
•    implementing psychological education for the population.

diagnostic activity:
•    selecting psychodiagnostic methods on base of their psychometric characteristics, taking into account age norms and indications for use for individuals or groups of educational institutions;
•    collecting and processing data for the purpose of individual diagnosis, psychological monitoring of the socio-psychological supporting environment of the subjects of the educational process;
•    compiling a psychological portrait of students' personalities;
•    maintaining professional records;
•    selecting psychodiagnostic methods based on their psychometric characteristics, taking into account age norms and characteristics of certain social groups, including vulnerable segments of the population and individuals in difficult life situations; employees of social organizations;
•    collecting and processing data for the purpose of individual diagnosis, psychological monitoring of the socio-psychological supporting environment of the population, psychological support of socially vulnerable segments of the population, individuals in difficult life situations, employees of social organizations.

remedial activity:
•    participating in the development of psycho-remedial and developmental classes (trainings) with the subjects of the educational process;
•    providing psychological assistance to social groups, individuals in difficult life situations, employees of social bodies and organizations, as well as vulnerable segments of the population (clients).

LEARNING OUTCOMES

On successful completion of the course the student should be able to:
•    carry out educational and preventive work in accordance with the requests of different social groups, individuals in difficult life situations, employees of educational and social organisations, as well as vulnerable segments of the population (clients);
•    carry out psychological diagnostics in order to provide psychological assistance to social groups, individuals in difficult life situations, employees of educational and social organisations, as well as vulnerable population groups (clients);
•    perform organisational functions in corrective-developmental and supportive activities for representatives of social groups, individuals in difficult life situations, employees of educational and/or social sphere organisations, as well as for vulnerable population (clients).

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Graduates can work as psychologists in the field of education and the social sphere, as well as in the fields of professional activity, provided that the level of their education corresponds to the qualification of the employee.
