DESCRIPTION
The development of the programme provides training for bachelors of socio-cultural activities who possess the personal and professional qualities necessary to solve a wide range of tasks in the field of education and science, in the implementation of state cultural policy, as well as in the system of cultural institutions, additional education, in the field of cultural, educational and mass cultural work. Graduates are capable of organisational, managerial, design, technological and pedagogical activities in these, as well as in all other fields and spheres related to culture, art and education. Students who master this programme acquire the ability to adequately perceive intercultural diversity, carry out business communication in Russian and a foreign language, use information and communications technology in their professional activities, and are able to comply with the requirements of professional standards and professional ethics. The process of forming universal and general professional competencies is aimed at training a full-fledged citizen and professional. It should educate creative, socially active individuals, proactive and disciplined professionals who are able to make independent, including managerial decisions and take responsibility for them. The formation of professional competencies in accordance with this programme is focused on the training of professionals capable of carrying out activities for the organisation of additional education for children and adults, for the organisation of leisure and cultural events, for the management of cultural and arts organisations and the development of the socio-cultural sphere.
AIMS
training activity:
• implementing modern forms and methods of educational work, including interactive ones, which are used both during classes and extracurricular activities;
• setting educational objectives that promote the development of students, regardless of their abilities and characters;
• implementing educational opportunities for various types of children’s activities (learning, playing, labour, sport, art, etc.);
• designing situations and events that develop children’s emotional and value-based spheres (children’s emotion culture and value orientations);
• developing students’ learning activities, independence, initiative, creative abilities, forming civil positions, abilities to work and live in conditions of the modern world, and developing a culture of healthy and safe lifestyle for students;
• fostering tolerance and developing behavioural skills in a changing political and cultural environment;
• engaging constructive upbringing efforts of students’ parents (legal representatives) and assisting families in solving upbringing issues;
• developing social partnership and promoting the services of supplementary education for children and adults;
• implementing monitoring and quality control for supplementary basic education programmes;
• organising the development of tools and programmes for studying the service market of supplementary education for children and adults.
organisational and management activity:
• organising and conducting leisure events;
• managing functional departments which include specialists in office administration and staff management;
• managing a department which includes specialists in organising commercial and marketing activities;
• managing a structural department which includes specialists responsible for methodological management of cultural and leisure organisations, as well as a department which includes specialists in organising cultural and leisure activities;
• managing the staff and (or) marketing activities of a socio-cultural organisation;
• managing a club organisation and similar cultural and leisure organisations;
• organising a socio-cultural association, such as an interest club, a creative group or a children’s and youth group;
• preparing and conducting a socio-cultural event, such as a festival, show, contest, exhibition, excursion, etc.;
• producing concerts, festivals, shows, contests, holidays, and other socio-cultural activities;
• assessing the performance of a socio-cultural organisation in accordance with social and economic criteria;
• conducting a comparative assessment of the efficiency of socio-cultural programmes and projects.
design activity:
• designing development programmes and projects for the socio-cultural sphere in accordance with state cultural policy areas;
• designing and forecasting the development of the socio-cultural sphere at a local and regional level.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
On successful completion of the course the student should be able to:
• analyse and plan the educational process in the field of preschool, primary, general, secondary general and supplementary education;
• implement the educational process in the field of preschool, primary, general, secondary general and supplementary education;
• develop organisational and training support in supplementary education;
• organise leisure activities for various socio-demographic groups;
• organise a socio-cultural association, such as an interest club, a creative group or a children’s and youth group;
• prepare and organise socio-cultural activities;
• implement commercial activities in the socio-cultural and leisure fields;
• manage activities of a socio-cultural organisation;
• conduct project activities in the cultural field;
• develop solutions for optimising a regional socio-cultural sphere.
EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES
Graduates of the programme are able to work in various sectors, including education, cultural institutions, and social services. They are equipped to manage educational programmes, organise leisure activities, conduct market research in additional education services, and develop and implement cultural projects aligned with state policies. Additionally, they can plan and execute social and cultural events, manage cultural organisations, and contribute to the development of the socio-cultural environment in their regions.
