DESCRIPTION
The mission of the programme is to provide high-quality training for qualified masters of psychology with deep professional knowledge and skills; as well as to develop masters' skills in providing psychological services in the field of education and the social sphere, which will allow graduates to be competitive in the labour market for the subsequent effective solution of professional tasks in the scientific field of social psychology of personality.
AIMS
expert diagnostic activity:
• defining aims, objectives, and methods for psychodiagnostic research considering requests from students, parents, teachers, and the administration of an educational organisation;
• administrating the collection, processing, and analysis of psychodiagnostic data obtained through research on students and groups;
• defining aims, objectives, and methods for psychodiagnostic research on an individual as well as various social groups;
• administrating the collection, processing, and analysis of psychodiagnostic data obtained through research on an individual as well as various social groups;
• preparing a psychological report, expert evaluation, and recommendations for an individual as well as various social groups.
counselling activity:
• conducting psychological counselling for the subjects of the educational process;
• counselling and training teachers;
• conducting psychological counselling for an individual as well as various social groups;
• counselling social service workers on interaction with people for creating an optimal mental climate.
remedial and developmental activity:
• creating and implementing a plan for an individualised or situational intervention within the educational system;
• implementing remedial and developmental work with students;
• providing psychological support for separate individuals (clients) as well as various social groups;
• providing psychological support for workers of agencies and organisations of the social sphere.
organisational and management activity:
• organising and conducting the work of groups involved in solving tasks of a psychological service in education;
• preparing and planning the work of interagency groups providing psychological support for social groups and individuals (clients);
• organising monitoring of psychological safety and comfort of the living environment;
• organising interaction between subjects in various areas of professional activities.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
On successful completion of the course the student should be able to:
• assess psychometric characteristics of psychodiagnostic instruments used, draw up protocols, conclusions, reports on the results of psychological assessments, diagnostics, and examinations, and provide feedback on them;
• develop and implement science-based intervention programmes of a preventive, developmental, remedial or rehabilitation nature to solve specific psychological problems of separate individuals, groups, and (or) organisations;
• develop and implement complex programmes of providing psychological services, such as individual, family, or group psychological counselling, in accordance with the needs of the client;
• conduct educational, psychological and preventive activities for various population categories in order to improve the psychological culture of society and understanding of the role of psychology in solving socially and individually significant problems in the field of health care and related fields;
• apply supervision models and methods for managing and improving professional activities of a psychologist;
• execute main functions of psychological practice management;
• implement training activities based on the latest developments in the field of education, psychology, and psychological practice, in accordance with the educational needs of various population groups, including special social groups (risk groups, vulnerable population categories, individuals with disabilities), and in organising inclusive education.
EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES
Graduates are able to work as a psychologist in the field of education and social services, management, as well as in organisations providing psychological services to individuals and organisations.
