DESCRIPTION

The mission of the programme is to provide a high level of training of master’s degree students in theory and practice of international economic relations which envisage the knowledge of the main forms of international business and international economic relations (international trade, international scientific and engineering cooperation, international credit and currency and financial relations).

AIMS

research activity:
•    developing plans, programmes, tools for scientific research of international economics and business;
•    organising and conducting scientific research;
•    gathering, processing, analysing, systematizing information on the research topic;
•    preparing data for reviews, reports and scientific publications.

analytical activity:
•    searching and evaluating information sources for the analysis of social and economic indicators characterising the activities of economic entities;
•    analysing national and international markets for goods and services, financial markets and currency and credit relations;
•    analysing and forecasting global social and economic processes and phenomena at the micro- and macrolevels;
•    programming applications using modern software development tools; 
•    analysing the dynamics of the main social and economic indicators of the enterprise, industry, region and economy as a whole.

organisation and management activity:
•    organising work on foreign economic activity of enterprises, institutions and organisations;
•    managing economic services and departments of enterprises and organisations of different forms of ownership, state and municipal authorities;
•    organizing and supporting the activities of entities of Russian and international business;
•    designing strategies for the development and functioning of enterprises, organisations and their departments.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

On successful completion of the course the student should be able to:
•    solve research problems and participate in organising scientific research in the international economy and business;
•    analyse national and international markets for goods and services, financial markets and currency and credit relations;
•    organise work on foreign economic activity of enterprises, institutions and organisations;
•    develop plans for foreign economic activity of enterprises, institutions and organisations and monitor their implementation.
