SCHOLARSHIP OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION TO STUDY ABROAD

The programme provides funding for Bachelor’s, Master’s and Specialist’s degree students, postgraduate students to study abroad for a period of 1 semester up to an academic year. The scholarship covers tuition fees, visa and travel expenses, medical insurance, travel, and accommodation.

Eligibility requirements:
•    citizenship of the Russian Federation;
•    Bachelor’s, Master’s and Specialist’s degree students, postgraduate students of full-time mode of study (not final year of study);
•    participant achievements and developments in basic and applied research;
•    recommendations of the university regarding the participation in the competition.

The competition for obtaining the scholarship of the RF President is announced at the official website of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation (in Russian) or at the website of InterEducation (in Russian).

The competitive selection is conducted by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation. In this regard the Ministry establishes the selection board. Based on the minutes of the selection board meeting, the list of the RF President scholarship holders that will be sent to study abroad is compiled.

GRANTS SUPERVISED BY THE MINISTRY OF SCIENCE AND HIGHER EDUCATION OF THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION

Grant programmes are implemented under the governmental agreements on establishing academic mobility between the Russian Federation and foreign countries. The programmes provide students, postgraduate students and academics with the possibility of studying and interning abroad fully or partially paid by the host country.

The requirements for applicants and procedure of participating in the competition depend on the mobility programme. The list of programmes can be found at the website of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education (in Russian).

The programmes are coordinated by the Ministry. The International Office informs on current competitions and assists in preparing the documents required.

GLOBAL EDUCATION PROGRAMME

Global Education Programme (GEP) is sponsored by the Government of the Russian Federation. Within GEP Russian citizens get funding if they are enrolled to the leading foreign universities to Master’s degree, PhD and Residency programmes. Total expenditure for one year of study cannot exceed 2 763 600 RUB. The list of countries, universities and educational programmes can be found at the official website of GEP.

Eligibility requirements:
•    citizenship of the Russian Federation;
•    certified copy of diploma (Bachelor or Specialist);
•    enrolment in Master’s degree, PhD or Residency programmes in a priority study area at the eligible foreign universities;
•    readiness to return to Russia upon completion of studies and to obtain employment in accordance with the qualification gained for a period of at least 3 years.
