Penza State University comprises the officially certified examination centre of TestDaF Institut.

TestDaF, formally Test Deutsch als Fremdsprache, is a globally recognised language proficiency exam designed primarily for those who wish to study in the higher education institutions in Germany. Its results are accepted not only in the HEIs and in the academic community, as well as in research centres all over the world.

A grade 4 for each of the four parts of the TestDaF is a confirmation of the proficiency level in the German language, which is sufficient to study at almost all faculties and courses of the higher educational institutions in Germany. A prerequisite for participating in the exam is proficiency in German at a level not lower than B2.
