In line with the Federal Law dated 25 July 2002 no. 115-FZ "On the legal status of foreign citizens in the Russian Federation" Russian Language Test Centre organises:

1) Exam on the Russian language, Russian history and basic laws of the Russian Federation for foreign citizens who apply for work licence / work permit or residence permit (regardless of its kind)

2) Russian Language Test for foreign citizens applying for citizenship of the Russian Federation

3) Tests of Russian as a Foreign Language to determine language proficiency of foreign citizens (elementary level, basic level, intermediate level, advanced level, proficiency, fluency)

Documents required for passing tests and exams:

•   passport or residence permit
•   copy of a passport or a residence permit
•   copy of the properly certified translation of a passport
•   migration card
•   copy of the migration card
•   migration registration tear-off card
•   copy of the migration registration tear-off card

Foreign citizens should have a blue or black pen.

To pay for the test / exam foreign citizens should make non-cash payments using a QR code, thus transferring funds to the bank account specified in the agreement for paid additional educational services.
 

Test / exam schedule

Groups are formed both by appointment and on a no booking required basis.

When applying for work licence / work permit - Monday, Wednesday, Friday

Documents submission at 9:00, test / exam start at 10:00 (group 1)
Documents submission at 10:00, test / exam start at 11:20 (group 2)
Documents submission at 11:00, test / exam start at 12:40 (group 3)

When applying for residence permit (regardless of its kind) - Tuesday, Thursday (please doublecheck)

Documents submission at 9:00, test / exam start at 10:00
 

Certificates presentation

Based on the results of the test / exam, foreign citizens are presented the state-issued certificates. A certificate for obtaining work licence / work permit is valid for 3 years, a certificate for obtaining residence permit is valid for 3 years or valid indefinitely (depending on its kind).

Certificates are issued within 3 working days from the date of the test / exam.

Certificates are awarded upon presentation of a passport or a residence permit
Monday - Thursday from 09:00 to 17:00
Friday from 09:00 to 15:45

Partial retake of the test / exam is not provided.
