DESCRIPTION

The purpose of the program is to develop students' universal, general professional competencies and professional competencies in accordance with the requirements of professional standards, and to prepare graduates for the operation and administration of system and application software, hardware for computers, complexes, systems and special-purpose networks. The implementation of this goal should ensure that students master the basic methods and tools for developing software and hardware, implementing and effectively using information communication tools and systems, and acquiring practical skills in working with professional activities.

AIMS

design activity:
•    formalising a subject area and requirements for a solution under development;
•    planning the development of system software and developing the structure of the system;
•    drafting a technical and economic justification for project solutions;
•    formalising the process of operating software and hardware elements;
•    programming applications and creating prototypes of system and applied software and hardware of computers, complexes, systems, and networks.    

technological activity:
•    monitoring networks and devices, fixing errors and failures of software and hardware;
•    planning the installation and setup of software and hardware;
•    keeping technical documentation.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

On successful completion of the course the student should be able to:
•    develop components of operating systems and system software;
•    design software and hardware elements for solving practical tasks;
•    administrate the system software of an information and communication system;
•    administrate the search and diagnostics of network device and software errors.

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

The professional activity of graduates is the development, debugging, modification, support and operation of system and application software, hardware for computers, complexes, systems, and special purpose networks. The graduates are able to work as programming engineers, system administrators, telecommunications equipment specialists, and others.
