DESCRIPTION
Currently, organisations operating in highly competitive conditions and the need to constantly optimize their resources need specialists with interdisciplinary knowledge who are able to solve the problems of business analysis, business process reengineering, design, implementation and operation of information systems. Business informatics is an applied field, the appearance of which is formed mainly with the help of modern digital technologies for building and improving corporate information systems. During the training process, specialists with fundamental knowledge in mathematics, economics, management, information and digital technologies should be trained, able to develop and implement information systems in business organisations, as well as make management decisions using a variety of applied information systems. Such specialists are necessary for the implementation of the transition to the information society and the integration of the country into a single global information space.
AIMS
analytical activity:
• analysing the subject field, developing a system of targets, and justifying solutions in the professional field;
• creating, adjusting and supporting an information system that automates business processes.
organisation and management activity:
• coordinate the site content management and processes of creating and using information services;
• manage the creation, adjustment and support of an information system that automates organisational management tasks using modern standards and methods.
research activity:
• solve research tasks in the professional field.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
On successful completion of the course the student should be able to:
• analyse enterprise architecture, enterprise business processes, economic processes and phenomena, risks in business activities;
• undertake developmental forecasting to find the most cost-effective plan variants;
• develop a range of measures and optimal strategies to minimise risks;
• study and analyse the market for information systems and technology;
• conduct the analysis and application evaluation of information systems and technology for business management;
• analyse innovations in the economy, management and information technology;
• develop information system databases, data and knowledge storage.
• survey operations and IT infrastructure of enterprises;
• interact with specialists of a customer / contractor when solving managerial tasks related to the life cycle of an enterprise’s IT infrastructure;
• plan and organise the work of small project implementation groups;
• manage a digital enterprise and digital business units in non-network companies;
• prepare contracts and documents for the development, acquisition or delivery of an information system and information technology;
• develop regulations for enterprise activities and management of the lifecycle of an enterprise’s IT infrastructure;
• manage IT services and content of enterprise’s information resources;
• ensure support for site promotion on the internet.
