DESCRIPTION
The purpose of the programme is to train a qualified doctor of clinical laboratory diagnostics who is capable and ready to carry out independent professional activities based on formulated universal, general professional and professional competencies, in accordance with the requirements of the professional standard "Specialist in the field of clinical laboratory diagnostics".
LEARNING OUTCOMES
On successful completion of the course the student should be able to:
• conduct, organise and analyse clinical laboratory tests of the fourth category of complexity;
• counsel medical workers and patients;
• diagnose emergency conditions and provide emergency medical aid;
• organise the work and manage the laboratory.
• implement organisational and methodological support for the laboratory process;
• formulate medical reports on the results of clinical laboratory tests of the fourth category of complexity;
• apply the main principles of organisation and management in the field of health protection and assessment of the provision of medical aid using basic medical and statistical indicators;
• conduct training activities, such as training junior medical staff;
• analyse and assess the indicators of the laboratory’s work;
• manage the system of quality control for clinical laboratory tests;
• analyse medical and statistical information, keep medical documentation and organise work activities of subordinate medical staff;
• provide emergency medical aid for conditions requiring immediate medical intervention.
