DESCRIPTION

The aim of the programme is to prepare bachelors in the field of international relations, able to analyse events and phenomena in the system of modern international relations, the most important international organisations and associations, problems and trends in the development of world politics, foreign policy, international and national security, world economy, international economic relations, world financial markets, international business and foreign economic activity. The programme is designed to develop social and personal qualities in graduates: purposefulness, organisation, diligence, responsibility, citizenship, adherence to ethical values, communication, tolerance, ability to work in a team; improve general culture and broaden outlook.

AIMS

research activity:
•    conducting academic research on international relations;
•    applying the acquired skills of mastering the basics of international-political analysis.

analytical activity:
•    providing political consultancy based on analysis and expertise of political, social and economic problems and events at the Russian and international level;
•    monitoring international economic relations, world financial and commodity markets.

organisation and management activity:
•    conducting executive, organisational and administrative work in public and private institutions and organisations;
•    participating in ensuring economic and business contacts and relations with foreign counterparties;
•    participating in organising and ensuring foreign economic activity.

diplomatic activity:
•    participating in ensuring diplomatic contacts and liaison with countries and regions of the world;
•    participating in the work of organising international negotiations, meetings, conferences, seminars and other projects and programmes, including in foreign languages;
•    conducting business correspondence on the organisation of international events, including in foreign languages;
•    performing oral and written translation work.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

On successful completion of the course the student should be able to:
•    participate in scientific research of international relations based on information and analytical materials and media analysts;
•    participate in providing contacts with foreign countries, regions and provide political advice based on analysis of international relations and the world economy;
•    analyse international economic relations, global financial markets;
•    participate in organisational and communication activities in foreign languages, using the conceptual apparatus of international relations and the world economy;
•    participate in ensuring diplomatic, economic and other contacts and relations with countries and regions of the world and the implementation of international projects and programmes;
•    analyse the behaviour of business entities in national and international markets, explore foreign markets for products.

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Professional activity of the graduate includes labour functions in the field of scientific research in the sphere of international relations, world economy, international business on the basis of media analysis, conducting socio-economic and international political analysis, organisation and support of foreign economic activity, implementation of activities to ensure diplomatic, foreign economic and other contacts and relations with foreign contractors, including in foreign languages.
