DESCRIPTION
The purpose of the programme is to deepen theoretical knowledge and further enhance the practical training of a resident on the basis of knowledge and skills in obstetrics and gynaecology acquired during university studies, necessary for further full-fledged independent work as an obstetrician-gynaecologist with universal, general professional and professional competencies that contribute to his social mobility and stability in the labour market.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
On successful completion of the course the student should be able to:
• conduct medical examinations of patients during pregnancy, the postnatal period and after pregnancy termination, as well as of patients with gynaecological diseases and benign diffuse changes in mammary glands in day hospitals and inpatient settings;
• prescribe, conduct, and assess the effectiveness and safety of treatment for patients during pregnancy, the postnatal period and after pregnancy termination, as well as of patients with gynaecological diseases and benign diffuse changes in mammary glands in day hospitals and inpatient settings;
• conduct and control the effectiveness of medical rehabilitation for patients during pregnancy, the postnatal period and after pregnancy termination, as well as of patients with gynaecological diseases and benign diffuse changes in mammary glands in day hospitals and inpatient settings;
• conduct preventive measures, as well as to provide health education for the population;
• analyse medical and statistical information, keep medical documentation and organise work activities of subordinate medical staff;
• provide emergency medical aid for conditions requiring immediate medical intervention.
EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES
Graduates are able to implement medical activities as obstetrician-gynaecologists in pregnancy pathology departments, maternity and postnatal wards of maternity hospitals of various levels, gynaecological departments in multidisciplinary hospitals, specialised gynaecological hospitals, and antenatal clinics.
