DESCRIPTION

The programme provides Bachelor’s degree students with academic knowledge and practical skills required in the field of electrical and power engineering and electrical engineering, capable of being a leader, working in a team, acting and winning in a competitive environment.

AIMS

project activity:
•    collecting and analysing data for designing objects of professional activity (PA);
•    preparing competitive options for technical solutions in the design of PA objects;
•    selecting appropriate solutions and preparing sections of pre-project documentation based on standard technical solutions for designing PA objects.

operation activity:
•    control of the technical condition of the technological equipment of the PA objects;
•    maintenance and repair of the PA objects.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

On successful completion of the course the student should be able to:
•    take part in designing professional objects in accordance with the terms of reference and regulatory and technical documentation, following various technical requirements;
•    calculate operating modes of objects and determine the parameters of equipment of professional objects;
•    provide the required modes and specified parameters of the technological process according to a given methodology;
•    compose and execute standard technical documentation;
•    participate in the installation of equipment elements of professional facilities and willingness to participate in testing of commissioned electrical power and electrical engineering equipment;
•    assess the technical condition and remaining life of equipment.

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Graduates of the educational program in the operation and design of electrical networks have numerous employment opportunities. They can work in electric utilities as specialists in the operation of transformer substations and as maintenance and repair workers for cable and overhead power lines. In design organizations, they will engage in designing power supply systems for construction projects, while in energy companies, they can work as dispatch operators and engineers managing electric network modes. They may also find positions in regulatory and inspection agencies, maintenance companies, and research or educational institutions.
