DESCRIPTION
The Master’s degree programme provides students with profound theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the field of civil and business law. The programme envisages developing, introducing and enforcing legal norms in civil and business law, ensuring law and order, conducting research, and promoting legal education.
Forms of in-class activity: lectures, practical classes, review sessions, and individual work.
AIMS
law making activity:
• preparing and issuing statutes and regulations in civil and business law;
law enforcement activity:
• justifying and making decisions within the scope of official duties;
• performing actions associated with the implementation of legal norms;
• producing legal documents;
service activity:
• ensuring law, order, security of individuals, society and state,
• maintaining public order;
• protecting private, state, municipal and other property;
• preventing, detecting, investigating and combating crimes and offenses;
• defending rights and legally protected interests of individuals and legal entities;
expert and advisory activity:
• providing legal assistance;
• consulting on legal issues;
• carrying out legal examinations and reviews of legal norms, statutes and regulations in civil and business law;
management activity:
• managing and operating teams working in various legal institutions;
research activity:
• conducting research within civil and business law;
teaching activity:
• delivering legal disciplines;
• promoting legal awareness among the population.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
On successful completion of the course the student should be able to:
• conscientiously fulfil professional duties and comply with the legal ethics;
• upgrade intelligence, professional and social competences;
• apply obtained theoretical knowledge and practical skills in legal service, management and research;
• issue and explore regulations, standards and other legal documents;
• detect, record and prevent crimes and offenses;
• interpret, introduce and enforce regulations, standards and other legal documents;
• make decisions and perform legal actions in strict accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation;
• efficiently conduct research in the field of law;
• deliver legal disciplines based on up-to-date theoretical knowledge and using modern methodological approaches;
• supervise independent work of students, while they are exploring civil and business law.
EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES
Programme graduates are employed in legal institutions of all levels and types. They can occupy senior positions in federal and local authorities, non-governmental, public and commercial organisations, mass media, production and service enterprises. They can be engaged in law making, law enforcement, service, expert and advisory, management, research and teaching activity. Some graduates may opt for completing post-graduate programme.
