DESCRIPTION
AIMS
• applying mathematical apparatus for solving set tasks in research activities;
• building and studying mathematical models in economics and engineering.
production and technological activity:
• using standard software packages for solving mathematical modelling tasks;
• applying modern programming languages when solving practical tasks of mathematical modelling;
• using the means of modern information technologies for creating and studying mathematical models in economics and engineering.
training activity:
• organise a teaching process using the methodological basics of teaching specialised mathematics and informatics;
• planning and designing an educational process for specialised mathematics and informatics in secondary vocational education and supplementary vocational education programmes, considering the training level of the students;
• applying obtained knowledge in specialised mathematics and informatics when implementing the training process.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
On successful completion of the course the student should be able to:
• identify the essence of natural-science issues in the field of economics and engineering and apply existing mathematical models and proper mathematical apparatus for solving them;
• conduct research based on existing methods in the field of mathematical modelling in economics and engineering;
• use the means of modern information technologies and standard software packages for solving the tasks of mathematical modelling in economics and engineering;
• use programming languages, data management methods, and software design methods and tools when solving the practical tasks of mathematical modelling in economics and engineering;
• teach specialised mathematics and informatics in secondary vocational education and supplementary vocational education programmes.
EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES
A graduate who has successfully mastered the programme is able to carry out professional activities in the field of education and science, communications and information and communication technologies, aerospace industry, as well as cross-cutting professional activities in industry.
