DESCRIPTION
The programme qualifies high-skill pharmacists who have profound theoretical knowledge and practical skills within pharmacy and related sciences. Graduates master skills of managing the activity of pharmaceutical institutions, developing and producing drugs and other medicines, controlling their quality.
AIMS
pharmaceutical activity:
• dispensing pharmaceutical products.
expert analysis activity:
• performing all types of work related to pharmaceutical analysis of pharmaceutical products, including medicinal plant raw materials and auxiliary substance, in accordance with the state quality standards.
organisation and management activity:
• operating and managing organisations and (or) their structural units engaged in circulation of pharmaceutical products.
control and licensing activity:
• establishing and running control and analysis services in pharmaceutical enterprises and organisations.
production activity:
• producing and manufacturing pharmaceutical products.
research activity:
• addressing specific and applied research problems in circulation of pharmaceutical products.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
On successful completion of the course the student should be able to:
• use basic biological, physical and chemical, chemical, and mathematical methods for development, research and examination of pharmaceutical products, manufacture of pharmaceutical products;
• apply knowledge of morphological and functional features, physiological conditions and pathological processes in the human body to solve professional tasks;
• carry out professional activity taking into account specific economic, environmental and social factors within the regulatory framework for circulation of pharmaceutical products;
• carry out professional activity in accordance with ethical standards and moral principles of pharmaceutical ethics and deontology;
• provide first aid on the premises of a pharmaceutical organisation in case of emergency before the ambulance crew arrives;
• store pharmaceutical products;
• provide advice to medical workers and consumers of pharmaceutical products in accordance with the instructions for their use;
• dispose pharmaceutical products and other goods of the pharmacy range in accordance with applicable laws and regulations;
• ensure quality control of pharmaceutical products in the conditions of pharmaceutical organisations;
• analyse resource support, assess needs of pharmaceutical organisations;
• ensure the quality of pharmaceutical products in the context of pharmaceutical production;
• carry out technological processes in the context of pharmaceutical products manufacture;
