DESCRIPTION

 

The master’s degree programme provides advanced training in social pedagogy, education, students’ individuality and personality development; psychological and pedagogical support of students, teachers and parents in educational institutions of different types; socialization.

Forms of in-class activity: lectures, seminars, laboratory classes, review sessions, and students’ individual work.

 

AIMS

 

teaching activity:
•    studying abilities, needs and achievements of students according to the level of the educational programme;
•    organizing the process of teaching and learning with the use of technologies relevant to the age and psychological characteristics of the students as well as to their educational needs; 
•    interacting with  colleagues, parents, social partners including foreign ones;
•    professional self-development and personal growth;

research activity:
•    analyzing, systemizing and generalizing the results of research in science and education by applying a set of research methods when solving particular research tasks;
•    conducting research and analyzing its results with the use of modern research methods and technologies;

project activity:
•    designing educational programmes and individual educational routes for students;
•    designing the content of subjects (modules), forms and control methods, assessment materials;
•    designing educational environment contributing to the quality of the educational process;
•    designing a further educational route and professional career;

cultural and educational activity:
•    studying and forming cultural needs of students;
•    increasing cultural and educational level of different public groups, developing the strategy for educational activity;
•    designing and implementing complex educational programmes focused on the needs of different social groups taking into account regional and demographic specific features.

 

LEARNING OUTCOMES

 

On successful completion of the course the student should be able to:

•    demonstrate abstract thinking, analyze, synthesize, develop their intellectual and general cultural level;
•    act in non-standard situations, take social and ethical responsibility for the decisions made;
•    acquire and apply new research methods, knowledge and skills not connected with professional activity;
•    interact with educational process participants and social partners, manage teams, be tolerant to social, ethnic, confessional and cultural differences;
•    apply modern methods and techniques of organizing educational activity, diagnosing and evaluating the educational process according to different educational programmes;
•    form educational environment and use professional knowledge and skills in solving tasks of innovative educational policy;
•    manage the students’ research work;
•    design educational environment, in particular, under the conditions of inclusion;
•    design content of disciplines, technologies and methods of teaching;
•    organize team work for solving problems of educational establishments, for implementing experimental work;
•    use individual and group technologies of decision making in management of educational organizations;
•    study and form cultural needs and increase cultural and educational level of different social groups;
•    use modern information and communication technologies and mass media for solving cultural and educational problems.

 

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

 

The graduates are employed in pre-school, general educational, vocational organizations, and higher education institutions, as well as in social rehabilitation institutions, social aid and protection institutions. On successful completion of the programme the graduates can take a post-graduate course.
