DESCRIPTION

 

The programme is aimed at the advanced learning of theory and practice of developing, promoting and implementing the tourist product, organizing complex tourist servicing in the main sectors of tourist industry. The programme provides studying two foreign languages, modern information technologies; much time is devoted to practical classes which help achieve practice-oriented training of students for their professional activity in the sphere of tourism.

AIMS

 

project activity:
•    using innovative and information technologies for creating the tourist product considering the main requirements to information security;
•    designing tourist services and tourist products according to consumers’ requirements;
•    developing tourist products considering technological, social and economic and other requirements;
organization management activity:
•    distributing functions and organizing the work of performers in organizations and enterprises of tourist industry;
•    taking operative managerial decisions in the sphere of tourist activity;
•    calculating and evaluating costs of organizing the activity of tourist industry activity, tourist product according to customers’ and (or) tourists’ requirements, substantiating managerial decisions;

research activity:

•    researching and monitoring the tourist services market;
•    using the applied methods of research in professional sphere;
•    adapting innovative technologies to the activity of tourist industry enterprises;
production technology activity:
•    applying modern technologies in implementing tourist products and providing services according to consumers’ and (or) tourists’ requirements;
•    using information and communication technologies in the process of developing and implementing tourist products;
service activity:
•    providing quality standards and security norms of complex tourist servicing;
•    organizing the process of servicing consumers and (or) tourists, shaping relations with clients;
•    developing internal regulatory documents for providing quality and standardization of services in tourist industry.

 

LEARNING OUTCOMES

 

On successful completion of the course, the student should be able to:
•    Demonstrate theoretical principles of design, apply the main methods of design to tourism;
•    Process and interpret the data necessary for design in tourism with the help of mathematical and informational knowledge;
•    Implement projects in tourist industry;
•    Organize work of performers, make decisions in organizing tourist activity;
•    Calculate and analyze costs of tourist industry enterprise activity, tourist products according to consumers’ and (or) tourists’ requirements, substantiate managerial decisions;
•    Find, analyze and process scientific and engineering information in the sphere of tourism; apply the methods of monitoring the tourist services market;
•    Use the applied methods of research in tourism;
•    Apply innovative technologies in tourism and new forms of servicing consumers and (or) tourists;
•    Develop tourist products based on modern technologies;
•    Promote and implement a tourist product with the help of information and communication technologies;
•    Use regulatory documents on quality, standardization and certification in the tourist industry;
•    Communicate with tourist product consumers, supply the service process considering consumers’ and tourists’ requirements.

 

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

 

Graduates can work in tourist industry organizations: tour operator and tour agency companies, tourist centres and complexes, state and municipal tourism management authorities, organizations that provide excursions and services of guides and interpreters, in hotels and other types of accommodation, catering organizations and other hospitality organizations.

Bachelors can also choose to continue their studies and get a master degree, second higher education or take an international educational programme course.
