DESCRIPTION
The purpose of the programme is to develop students' universal, general professional and professional competencies in accordance with the requirements of professional standards, and to prepare graduates for the development and operation of intelligent control systems. The implementation of this goal should ensure that students master the basic methods and tools for developing software and hardware, implementing and effectively using automated control systems, and acquiring practical skills in working with professional activities.
AIMS
research activity:
• developing working plans, research and technical development programmes and preparing technical specifications for contractors;
• collecting, processing, analysing, and systematising scientific and technical information, selecting methods and tools for solving research tasks;
• developing mathematical models for the processes and objects of automation and management systems;
• developing technical, information and algorithmic support for automation and management systems under development;
• conducting field studies and computer modelling for management objects and processes using modern mathematical methods, software and hardware;
• developing methods and tools for conducting modelling, identification, and technical diagnostics of dynamic objects of various physical nature;
• writing scientific and technical reports, reviews, publications, making scientific presentations, invention applications, and other materials based on research results.
design activity:
• collecting information on automated systems for technological process management and equipment in use from high-end manufacturers;
• developing variants of structural schemes of an automated process management system and selecting an optimal structural scheme;
• developing projects of automated systems for technological process management;
• examining an automation object;
• choosing equipment for an automated system for technological process management;
• analysing technical solutions for Russian and foreign high-end manufacturers of automated systems for technological process management.
organisational and management activity:
• organising the work of contractor teams;
• supporting a unified information space for planning and managing an enterprise at each stage of the product life cycle;
• conducting technical, economic, functional, and cost analysis of the market efficiency of a product under development;
• preparing documentation for building and developing an enterprise quality management system;
• developing plans and programmes for innovation activities at an enterprise.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
On successful completion of the course the student should be able to:
• analyse and identify the scientific nature of management problems in technical systems based on the provisions, laws and methods in the field of natural sciences and mathematics;
• formulate management tasks in technical systems and substantiate methods of their solution;
• independently solve management problems in technical systems based on the latest achievements of science and technology;
• assess the effectiveness of the results of the development of control systems using mathematical methods;
• conduct patent research, determine the forms and methods of legal protection and protection of intellectual property rights, and dispose of the rights to them in order to solve the problems of the development of science, engineering and technologies;
• collect and analyse scientific and technical information, summarize Russian and foreign experience in the field of automation and control;
• make an informed choice, develop and analyse in practice circuit, system engineering and hardware and software solutions for automation and control systems;
• choose methods and develop management systems for complex technical facilities and technological processes;
• develop methods and conduct experiments at existing facilities with the processing of results based on information technology and technical means;
• lead the development of methodological and regulatory documents, technical documentation in the field of automation of technological processes and production, including the product lifecycle and quality.
