Department of Legal Disciplines

Legal education can open up new and interesting career opportunities. The Department of Legal Disciplines provides its graduates with specialised knowledge and expertise to make their dreams come true. To ensure effective and comprehensive training the laboratory on constitutional and municipal law was created and equipped with necessary study guides and learning tools, as well as access to the legal and regulatory environment.

Its staff are engaged in research in constitutional and municipal law, foreign constitutional and legal systems. They thoroughly examine the division of jurisdictions and powers between federal authorities and authorities in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, their competence in constitutional and municipal legislation. They also study forms and methods of constitutional review, constitutional justice, their relation with the activity of state authorities on supervision, management and control.

Students’ interest in research is stimulated and maintained by the department. In 2013 the student scientific team “Challenges in constitutional law in the Russian Federation” was established. Students receive assistance in conducting applied and fundamental work on priority legal fields.

The department actively cooperates with various public authorities in the Penza Region in terms of training and employing students. Additionally, cooperation envisages advising students, reviewing graduation theses, arranging joint conferences, workshops and master classes. These authorities include City Administration, Legislative Assembly, City Council, Public Prosecution Office, Department of Economic Security and Anti-Corruption Enforcement, Arbitration Court and Human Rights Commissioner.
